Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
In the beginning God created. Our God is a creative God. From the beginning, He has been creating, crafting, imagining this world and our lives since the beginning and hasn’t stopped. Each sunrise, each sunset, every snowflake, all unique, all created by our amazing God. Children express this aspect of God’s character in such amazing ways. Their imagination and creativity are not hindered by the self-consciousness and doubts that so often plague us as adults.
Albert Einstein once said, “Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand.” What a concept! We spend so much of our lives pursuing knowledge and ignoring our creative nature. Imagine for a moment what your life might look like if you nurtured your creativity as much or more than your knowledge. What difference would that make in your daily life? How might it change your mental and emotional state? Go ahead and do something creative today. Let’s all be imitators of our God.
