Romans 12:1 “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God – this is your spiritual act of worship.”
The word translated as worship in this passage is latreia in the Greek. It means service unto God. So, in a way, Romans 12:1 is saying that it is our duty, our job, to be living sacrifices to God. It’s what we do.
- If you were to write down your job description as a Christian, what would it be?
- Would it have the role of living sacrifice as part of your duties?
- Now, if God were to write down your job description as a Christian, what would it be?
- Are there any differences between what your view of your job is and what God’s view is?
- What do you need to do to come more in line with God’s view of your job?
