Ephesians 1: 2 – Grace and Peace

Paul knew grace and peace.

Ephesians 1:2 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

You can’t give something away that you don’t have and Paul often imparts grace and peace to his readers.

Paul knew grace. He had a past that he was all too familiar with and he knew that God had forgiven him of it. God’s grace had given him a new name, a new life, a new purpose and he wasn’t looking back. Do you have a past that you would rather forget? That time, that place, that event that you regret almost daily as the enemy reminds you of it? God’s grace is bigger, God’s grace is stronger, God’s grace is truer, God’s grace is sufficient. Let His grace wipe it all away today. Your past is redeemed through Christ. Don’t keep bringing it back to life in the present. Receive God’s grace today and believe it is true for you.

And Paul knew peace. In good times and bad he had peace. He knew that peace that surpasses all understanding. He felt that peace and embraced it whether his preaching was received with joy or he was being flogged for those same words. He didn’t let the circumstances he was facing steal that peace from him. Do you know that peace today? What have you let steal your peace? Take a deep breath and let go of whatever it is that keeps you from fully embracing God’s peace for you today. Hold onto that peace that comes from God that is greater than your circumstances. Hold tight to it today.

May you remain in God’s grace and peace today.
