Job 38: 1- 4 – The God of Creation

I can’t help but be overwhelmed by God’s absolute power and just how incomparable He is.

Job 38:1-3 Then the LORD spoke to Job out of the storm. He said: “Who is this that obscures my plans with words without knowledge? Brace yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer me. Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation? Tell me, if you understand”

As I read chapters 38-41, I can’t help but be overwhelmed by God’s absolute power and just how incomparable He is. We serve an amazing God! I got to thinking about all of God’s creation and just how vast His creative powers are and did a little research. Scientists estimate that there are approximately 10 million species on our planet. yet we’ve only classified one fifth of them. Yearly, between 15,000 18,000 new species are discovered and described. Our galaxy contains somewhere between 100 billion and 400 billion stars and is more than 100.000 light years from side to side (in km that’s 1 followed by 18 zeros), yet scientists estimate that our galaxy is only one of 2 trillion galaxies in our universe.

It doesn’t matter where man goes, on earth, under the sea, or outer space, God has left His fingerprints everywhere.

  • One of the new species in 2014 was a snail that lives 3000 ft under the ground in caves that never see light. But God feeds them and cares for them.
  • Another was a sea anemone that lives on the underside of the ice surrounding Antarctica. But God knows it’s every need, it’s every movement.

Romans 1:20 “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.”

Mankind has no excuse not to believe in our amazing God. It doesn’t matter how far we run, He’s there and if we look, He promises that we’ll find Him. ” You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13
