1 Samuel 2: 1- 2 – God, the Last Place We Look

1 Samuel 2:1-2 Then Hannah prayed and said:

“My heart rejoices in the LORD; in the LORD my horn is lifted high. My mouth boasts over my enemies, for I delight in your deliverance. There is no one holy like the LORD; there is no one besides you; there is no Rock like our God.”

What a beautiful prayer in 1 Samuel 2:1-10 from the heart of one who has experienced God’s power at work. God has a way of turning the things of this world upside down. Just when we think there is nowhere else to turn, God comes through. I always laugh when I hear the phrase, “it was the last place I looked”. Of course it was the last place you looked, because once you found what you were looking for there was no need to look for it anywhere else. God is always the last place we look! Even when He is the first place we look, He is the last place we look, because once we look to Him there is no need to look elsewhere.
