2 Kings 20: 5 – He Hears You

Your cries for help do not fall on deaf ears.

2 Kings 20:5 This is what the LORD, the God of your father David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears.

Before Isaiah could get halfway out the door, God had already responded to Hezekiah’s prayer. If you’ve ever doubted that God hears your prayers, let this be a verse that you can hold onto. “I have heard your prayer and seen your tears.”

  • Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy. Psalms 126:5

Is there a burden that is breaking your heart today? Something too heavy for you to carry alone? Do you feel like no one else cares, or have the time to listen and share your burden with you? God cares! God is listening! Your tears matter! Your cries for help do not fall on deaf ears.

  • This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 1 John 5:14

My problem is that too often I just don’t care enough to shed tears over my concerns. I get apathetic, selfish, and hopeless instead. Like the song by Keith Green, My Eyes Are Dry.

My eyes are dry

My faith is old

My heart is hard

My prayers are cold

If you are like me, let God soften your heart to His love, soften your heart to those around you, soften your heart to your need and their need for God’s intervention. And then pray!
