2 Kings 19:1 When King Hezekiah heard this, he tore his clothes and put on sackcloth and went into the temple of the LORD.
When faced with overwhelming odds, Hezekiah went to God for help. When he felt threatened and overwhelmed, he went to God. The first place Hezekiah turned was to God. He didn’t grab the latest “How to” book. He didn’t come up with his own plan. He didn’t hide from the problem and hope that it would go away. Hezekiah did what we should all do when faced with a challenge. He went to God in prayer.
How many times do I waste time and energy fretting over how to solve a problem instead of first going to God in prayer? God’s response to Hezekiah was, “Do not be afraid.” How many times have I been needlessly stuck in fear because I haven’t bothered to go to God and hear Him speak peace over my troubled heart?
Are you tired of trying to figure out life on your own? Are there challenges you are facing that you have been trying to fix by yourself? What are you facing in your life today that you need to take to God in prayer? I can hear His response. “Don’t worry, I got this.”
