2 Corinthians 3:3 – You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.
I have saved every card and letter that my wife has ever written to me. All the little sticky notes with messages on them, all the birthday, Christmas, and anniversary cards. They are all in a box. I don’t know if I have ever looked at them, except one. There’s one faded sticky note that I have on my desk. It’s so faded now that I can barely see the ink. I had to take a picture of it a few years back and increase the contrast to see what it says. My soon to be wife wrote it the day before our wedding. To someone else, it’s a scrap of paper; to me, it’s priceless!
That’s the type of letter I want to be. I want Christ to write a personal love letter in me and through me to this world around me. When all is said and done, I want to be that old, faded note that can barely be read but which is priceless to the one that reads it.
We are all letters written by Christ to this dying world. We are the evidence that He really can transform a life. These letters are written on our hearts by the Spirit and are the testimony to those who read it that our hearts have been changed forever.
What type of letter is Christ writing through you? Who are you letting read that letter?
