Colossians 3:14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
Without love, none of what we do makes any difference. Can we really have a lasting impact on those around us without love?
“If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.” 1 Corinthians 13:1-3
Love binds all we do for God together. When love is our motive, our actions flow freely. We are to put on love as a person puts on their shoes. Before you head out for the day be sure that you have put your love on. Before you interact with that difficult person be sure you have put your love on. Before you talk to your child about that issue you are having with them put your love on.
It’s kind of like that old American Express commercial, “Don’t leave home without it!”
