Ephesians 2:6-7 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.
We are seated with Christ in heaven. How is that possible since I am still here on earth? Your position in heaven is already secure. It isn’t dependent upon anything you can do. Jesus secured it for you when He declared, “It is finished!” And when Jesus rose from the grave, we too were raised from the dead. And when Jesus ascended into heaven and sat at the right hand of God the Father, we ascended into the heavens with Him. Jesus is our head and we are His body. Where the head goes, so goes the body.
Why did God bestow upon us this great honor? In order to show all of creation “the incomparable riches of His grace”. God’s amazing grace for me is on display for all to see. At least it is meant to be. If I hide His grace to me from those around me then I am missing the opportunity to be a witness of the riches of God’s grace and his kindness to sinners like me. That is all the more reason to be honest about my failures and boast in what God has done for me. He has shown us such kindness each and every day. Just the breath in our lungs shows His kindness towards us but to be seated in heaven with Christ, how extravagant is His kindness towards us!
Go ahead and boast about God’s grace and kindness to you. The world needs to see and hear that God is rich in grace to all who turn to Him by faith.
